Brighton Surgery Center is seeking an experienced Operating Room Surgical Technician. Full time and Per diem positions available. The candidate will assist the RN in planning for and implementing the activities in elective/urgent surgical procedures as the situation arises. This position is an integral part of the surgical team and the patient’s surgical experience. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: scrub on all types of surgical procedures assigned, assist in the set-up of the operating room, clean and re-stock the operating rooms and communicating information accurately. 3-5 years of operating room experience desired.
Education requirements: High School degree.
To practice as a surgical technologist in New York, a surgical technologist muyst provide evidence to his or her employer of meeting one of the following requirements.
1. Graduated from a CAAHEP or ABHES accredited program and holds and maintains Certified Surgical Technologist certification
or
2. Complete a military surgical technology program
3. Provides evidence he or she was employed as a surgical technologist in a healthcare facility for a cumulative period of one year, occurring within the four years immediately prior to January 1, 2015
4. In the service of the federal government, to the extent the person is performing duties related to that service
