About Anthony Andrews, M.D.
Dr. Andrews is a Board Certified Ophthalmologist, and before coming to Rochester, acted as Chief of the Retina Division and an Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at SUNY Upstate Medical University Center for Vision Care and Center for Retina Care.
Prior to joining SUNY Upstate, Dr. Andrews was Chief of the Retina Service at SUNY Downstate and Director of SUNY Downstate's Retinal-Vascular Center.
Dr. Andrews graduated magna cum laude from Yale University, earning both bachelor's and master's degrees in molecular biochemistry and biophysics. He received his medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine where he was named a Penn Medical Scholar. After an ophthalmology residency at Penn State where he served as co-chief resident his final year, he completed a two-year medical and surgical vitreoretinal fellowship at Harvard University, the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary and the Schepens Retina Associates.
